Check the connection first. These are corded telephone-line phones, not mobile or Wi-Fi phones. For a cable, fiber or VoIP service, ask your provider about a compatible analog telephone port. Power-outage calling depends on your service and any modem or adapter backup power.

Can I help a family member set it up?
Yes. Follow the included model manual to save contacts, choose the dialing mode and set a comfortable volume together. Make an ordinary test call and keep a printed contact list nearby. One-touch mode changes how the number keys behave, so choose it deliberately.
Are these emergency-monitoring phones?
No. A programmed emergency key is a dialing shortcut, not monitored assistance, fall detection or a guarantee that a call will connect. Do not make test calls to emergency services.
